  1. Depart early from Manali. Drive through Rohtang Pass and the lunar landscape of Lahaul to reach Batal. Basic campsite overnight.

Know Before You Go

  • Chandratal is accessible only June to October
  • 2 km walking on rough trail to lake is mandatory
  • Carry warm clothes — night temps drop to -5°C even in summer
  • No mobile network or electricity at campsite
